Relaxation, Wellness and Medical Massage Therapies

Arm Massage

Medical Massage

Medical Massage focuses on medical need and follows strict clinical guidelines and protocols. A Medical Massage therapist will use a broad set of therapies for muscle health and recovery. It is often effective to manage pain, reduce inflammation, improve circulation, relieve nerve compression, improve digestion, increase flexibility, or treat other health concerns.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy - Wellness

Lymphatic drainage massage is a profound technique to help increase lymphatic flow.

With an increase of flow of lymphatic fluid, immune function is increased. Harmful substances are removed from the tissues and neutralized in the lymph nodes.

It has also been shown that an increase in lymph flow stimulates an increased production of lymphocytes enhancing immune function. Lymphatic drainage can be applied to clients who are suffering from a lack of energy, or a sluggish immune system.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy - Surgical

Surgeries all produce swelling to some extent because it is part of the body’s normal healing process. Some cosmetic surgeries, disrupt the natural pathways taken by the lymphatic system because of the location of the surgery. However, because of the extensive areas of disruption, tummy tucks and liposuction procedures are usually the cosmetic surgeries with the greatest amount of lymphatic swelling. When the lymphatic fluid drifts out into surrounding tissue after a surgical procedure and disrupts the normal lymphatic pathways, swelling is the result.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage therapy can assist in redirecting the fluid, allowing the body to naturally process the fluid and therefore reducing the swelling. This is different from incisional draining, where fluid is extracted from the incision sites.

Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy (CST) or cranial-sacral therapy, cranial osteopathy, and cranial therapy are forms of bodywork or alternative therapy using therapeutic touch to manipulate the synarthrodial joints of the cranium.

A practitioner of cranial-sacral therapy may also apply light touches to a patient's spine and pelvis. Practitioners believe that this manipulation regulates the flow of cerebrospinal fluid and aids in "primary respiration"

General Massage

Bowenwork Therapy

Bowen is a holistic remedial body technique that works on the soft connective tissue (fascia) of the body.

Bowen therapy can be used to treat musculoskeletal or related neurological problems including acute sports injuries and chronic or organic conditions.

Visceral Manpulation

Visceral Manipulation is based on the specific placement of soft manual forces to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera and their connective tissues. These gentle manipulations can potentially improve the functioning of individual organs, the systems the organs function within, and the structural integrity of the entire body.

VM assists functional and structural imbalances throughout the body including musculoskeletal, vascular, nervous, urogenital, respiratory, digestive and lymphatic dysfunction. It evaluates and treats the dynamics of motion and suspension in relation to organs, membranes, fascia and ligaments.

VM increases proprioceptive communication within the body, thereby revitalizing a person and relieving symptoms of pain, dysfunction, and poor posture.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears and their referral areas within zone related areas, which correspond to every part, gland and organ of the body.

Through application of pressure on these reflexes without the use of tools, creams or lotions, the feet being the primary area of application, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.

GuaSha or Fire Cupping

Traditional Chinese techniques of Gua Sha and Heated Cupping are incorporated with your massage. Gua Sha uses a round edged tool in a stroking motion to specific areas of muscle pain. Heated Cupping uses negative pressure with a heated/warmed glass cup that is applied to the affected body part.

The pressure can be deep or gentle depending on the affliction. 24 hours after treatment, the following should be avoided; exposure to extreme temperatures, including cold, wet and windy weather conditions, hot showers, baths, saunas and hot tubs. As with any bodywork or detox therapy, a generous amount of water should be consumed before and following the therapy.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage has been found to reduce stress, decrease swelling in the arms and legs, and relieve aches and pains in muscles and joints. It’s a popular complementary therapy during pregnancy for back pain, when choices for pain relief, such as medication, are often limited.

Not only can massage be physically beneficial, but the human touch can be comforting and provide emotional support during pregnancy. Massage therapy has been found to reduce anxiety and depression.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGES

Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, low back tightness, and sore shoulders. Some of the same strokes are used as classic massage therapy, but the movement is slower and the pressure is deeper and concentrated on areas of tension and pain.

Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down these adhesions to relieve pain and restore normal movement.

With Cupping

Massage cupping is a pleasant and gentle, non-invasive technique that can achieve powerful results.

Massage cupping stimulates the skin by increasing circulation and promoting a hydrated glow, while separating fused tissue layers and draining lymph. It works deeper by loosening adhesions, facilitating the muscles to operate more independently and stimulating healthy elimination of accumulated debris in the tissues, organs, and systems.

Sports Massage & Stretching

Sports Massage is something of a turbo treatment compared to the softer techniques of therapeutic massage. It is typically used before, during and after athletic events, however it can also be used to treat persistent troublesome areas.

Depending on the needs of the athlete, a variety of techniques and stretches can be used. The therapist may also employ techniques which involve repeated deep pressure application to muscles and tissues in order to encourage better circulation and eliminate muscle inflammation. The pressure applied in a sports massage also promotes a faster healing time.

RELAXATION Massages

Relaxation Massages

Swedish Massage

Relaxing and therapeutic massage incorporating five different strokes and kneading techniques on the soft tissues of the body (muscles, tendons, ligaments).

The strokes move blood and lymph fluid in the direction of the heart. Swedish massage increases local circulation, improves muscle and skin tone and decreases muscle tension.

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone

Hot stone massage is a variation on classic massage therapy. Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on the body.

The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body. The use of hot stones for healing dates back to ancient times. It is well suited for people who have muscle tension but prefer a lighter massage as well as client’s who enjoy deep tissue work.

Raindrop

Raindrop Technique® combines the art of aromatherapy with the techniques of Vita Flex and massage in the application of essential oils to various areas of the body.

This collection provides a revolutionary means of bringing balance and harmony to the body – physically, mentally, and emotionally. It combines several holistic modalities to bring balance and alignment to the body in a non-invasive manner.

LaserTouchOne

Treatment using LaserTouchOne. It is the only pain relief device on the market that combines two proven modalities: low level cold laser therapy and micro-current electrical stimulation, which can provide symptomatic relief of chronic, intractable pain.

Infrared Sauna

The Far Infrared Sauna Technology addresses the root cause by bringing your body to a state of homeostasis. When you apply infrared light to the human body we are charging our cells with their own energy allowing them to more efficiently detox the body, deliver oxygen rich nutrients to areas with limited circulation, and renew, regenerate and restore at the cellular level.  Use this as a stand alone service or add before or after your massage.
